I am Sisterhood!

Dear Friends and Family,

Firstly, Happy International Women's Day to all my ladies!!

The past few months have flown by, and have also been filled with a lot of exciting events and mission opportunities and life happenings. We will write again more in detail to fill everyone in, but we've been processing a few life events and trying not to overheat from the scorching hot summer sun. (Amelia is still adjusting to not having A/C in + 100F / 40C).

Good news!: Marco has officially been appointed as the Prison Ministry operations leader for Hillsong South Africa. We have been leading this team since October, and we're looking forward to the journey ahead. We are so grateful for our supportive and incredible church family we get to serve in prison with.

Some very exciting news that we need YOUR help with, is this coming Saturday, March 13th, we will get to host a Watch Party for the 25th annual COLOUR CONFERENCE, a global Women's Sisterhood movement. We are privileged that we get to host the day with ladies who are Correctional Officers, Released / Ex-Offenders, Hope Prison Ministry, Hillsong South Africa, and family & friends of the above.

God's in the details, and everything is falling into place quite recently. We were blessed with a larger location than originally requested (!!! WOW!*) Our team is so excited to create this tradition with the ladies of the Corrections Community. The willingness and support we've received for making this day happen is jaw-dropping. We are expectant to have around 40+ ladies join us! That being said, we need your help with raising funds to feed lunch, have goodies, and create a beautiful space for all of the ladies joining us. We know two amazing caterers from church, and we are budgeting for about $250 /ZAR3500 for the total food and goodies cost.

The Correctional Officers have been through an intense season, as well as a lot of the ladies joining us. Our heart's desire is that we create a beautiful, joyful, and intentional atmosphere, and feed them a lovely lunch, have treats, and just make them feel so special, l0ved, and spend a Saturday together as sisters from all walks of life. This is a time for us to show our appreciation for ladies who work and/or live in stressful environments. We pray Saturday can be a day of healing for these special and strong women. We imagine this is an opportunity even for some Officers to reconcile with previous clients and vice versa.
