How We Met

On June 19, 2018 out of all of places in this whole wide world, we met in front of the guest housing at Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town, South Africa. Amelia was serving with Hope Prison Ministry for World Deputation through the INN Seattle. We became friends the next day as we hiked together up Lion's Head with our team. Amelia was five months out from her second knee surgery, and was a straggler. Marco as the Intern Coordinator was keeping the team in front of him, and struck up a conversation with Amelia that formed a new friendship. After the Internship ended in mid August, Marco reached out to Amelia, and an exciting long distance relationship began on September 3, 2018. Months later and after Amelia graduated from UW, she returned to South Africa to visit Marco and serve with Hope Prison Ministry again. Meeting so many of Marco's close friends and family members was an incredible honor and joy! On the morning of May 26, 2019, Marco got down on one knee after preaching up a storm at church...and here we are! Wedding bells & international love! After a lot of prayer and trusting God's plan, on December 27, 2019 we got married at a little church in Washington State in the USA. We moved to South Africa in February 2020 to become full time missionaries together. We were finally able to celebrate our marriage with friends and family on this side of the world in December 2020. Thank you for being a part of our story!

Our Mission

We aim to glorify God and build His Kingdom by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our students, communities, and even strangers we meet through ministry work. We both have a heart for serving the undervalued, and unnoticed communities in South Africa. As missionaries, we serve our prison ministry and church community with an extremely glad heart.
